My Top 6 Favorite Utah Locations for Your Engagement Shoot
If you live anywhere in the Mountain West, you’ll know that there are some absolutely breathtaking locations. Utah is no stranger to diverse and epic landscapes. Its definitely one of the country’s most Instagrammable locations.
And with so many amazing views, how do you narrow it down to just a few? You’ve got mountains, deserts, red rocks, lakes, forests, and sand dunes. You’ll definitely want to choose a spot that is gorgeous (obviously) and an adventure to get to. With so many epic locations, you shouldn’t have a hard time finding one that will look amazing for your engagement or formal session!
Here are my top 6 Utah locations for your best ever engagement or formal shoot!
Antelope Island in Syracuse, Utah
Antelope Island is definitely one of my absolute favorite locations to shoot at in Utah. There are the most amazing views of the lake, beaches, gorgeous rock faces, and fields that will give you a super rad bohemian vibe for your shoot. If you choose to shoot close to the time the sun sets, chances are you’ll get the most amazing sunset views in your images.
Snow Canyon in Saint George, Utah
Snow Canyon is one of Utah’s many gorgeous state parks. It has amazing red rocks and these absolutely stunning black lava fields. The two together make for one incredible view, with lots of gorgeous contrast.
Coral Pink Sand Dunes in Kanab, Utah
If you are in Southern Utah, a little hidden gem is the Coral Pink Sand Dunes close to the border between Utah and Arizona. There are other sand dunes up in Northern Utah that everyone loves to frequent. But the coral color of the sand dunes in Kanab are just amazing. With red rocks and mountains in the distance, this is sure to become one of your favorite places and you’ll definitely want to take a trip down there to do a shoot!
Tony Grove Lake, Logan Canyon, Utah
About halfway through Logan Canyon on your way to Bear Lake, there is a gorgeous little lake tucked away back in the mountains. Its only accessible during the summer and early fall before the snow starts falling, so you’ll want to make sure to go during that time. The lake is beautiful and surrounded by lush green forest on all sides. In early July, wildflowers bloom all along the road leading up to the lake. There’s a campground at the lake as well, and at night, the view of the stars is incredible.
Spring Hollow Campground, Logan Canyon, Utah
One of my favorite gems of Logan Canyon is Spring Hollow campground, also known as Third Dam. This spot is so beautiful all year round, and provides some excellent views of the canyon out by the dam. The campground winds up into the forest, and ends at a small waterfall that makes for some really pretty pictures. Spring Hollow is definitely one of my favorite locations in Northern Utah.
Green Canyon, Logan, Utah
The last location is a favorite among Cache Valley photographers. Green Canyon is beautiful all year round. In the winter, the snow blends in perfectly with the juniper trees. Spring and summer bring about gorgeous green trees, wildflowers, and amazing blue skies. Fall has the most amazing color for leaves. You’ll definitely love exploring up Green Canyon.
